If your living room looks anything like this photo then you can afford LG’s new 118-inch Magnit TV, now available to buy in the US for $237,000 — a discount off the slightly larger 130-inch MicroLED TV LG launched last year for $300,000. Bargain!

You can watch movies and shows from Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and other services on a smartphone or a tablet, but a dedicated TV will always be something special. It’s the centerpiece of your living room, and the only display that you can truly cozy up to on the couch for hours on end. If you want to get more out of your purchase, you can make it even better with a powerful sound system and by hooking up a few game consoles, like the Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One. The latest 4K (and soon, 8K) displays from Sony, Samsung, LG, Vizio, and more deliver enhanced visual quality, better value, and smart features that you can’t find on other screens outside of your local cinema. If you’re looking for the latest TV news, how-tos on optimizing your home theater setup, and reviews for OLED and LCD TVs, you’ve come to the right place.
Megan Thee Stallion has a brand new song out now with Cardi B, several Grammys, and a whole-ass degree in health administration. She’s also a huge weeb. Here she is jamming out to one of the best anime opening themes ever, Yu Yu Hakusho’s “Smile Bomb.”
Nearly a year after we first saw a prototype of the triple-RGB laser Cine 1 prototype in action, we now know it’ll cost $8,995 for the 100-inch model, and $9,495 for the 120-inch model when sales begin on September 6th. That’s not cheap, but it sure is pretty compared to the alternative of erecting a monolithic black slab in your fancy living room.
The cloud gaming service, which offers a rotating selection of games to paid subscribers and Prime members, is now available on select LG smart TVs. You can access Luna by downloading the app on LG TVs made between 2021 and 2022, or by finding it on the home screen on TVs released in 2023.

Vergecast listener Guy flags the sponsored appearance of the (hilarious, wonderful) LG StanbyME Go suitcase TV in a YouTube camping influencer’s video and... well, here’s a screenshot. I love everything about this situation.
I don’t spend a lot of time on The Points Guy or scrolling through vacation destination photos on Instagram, but what if the problem is just that I’ve been using the wrong luggage?
Give me this suitcase TV from LG and a backpack with my Xbox, and I might even rethink my no-Airbnb policy (it’s not a vacation if I have to do my own dishes).
LG’s OLED M3 TVs, which are wireless save for a single power cord, will cost $4,999.99 in the US for the 77-inch model, $7,999.99 for 83-inches, and $29,999.99 for 97-inches. Orders are expected to open later this month, Digital Trends reports, almost eight months after we saw the 97-inch version for ourselves at CES in January.

Unsurprisingly, the Vergecast crew has a lot of opinions about TV remotes, so we spent a good chunk of the most recent episode talking about what makes a good one. We also interviewed a few designers who have some experience in the world of remote controls.
You can listen here, or watch the YouTube video, which includes pictures of all the remotes we talk about.
Please let me know your favorite and least favorite TV remotes.

Eight years ago, Zambian writer Malenga Mulendema entered to participate in a story development initiative sponsored by animation house Triggerfish — the South African studio behind “Aau’s Song” from Star Wars: Visions Volume 2.
Now, Supa Team 4 — Mulendema’s idea for a story about four teen girls transforming into thrifty superheroes — is slated to become Netflix’s first original animated African series, and the show’s trailer looks pretty damn slick.

It wasn’t the biggest announcement at WWDC this year, but Apple debuting TV AirPlay in hotels is a welcome thing, and LG announced Thursday it’ll support it on LG Pro:Centric Smart Hotel TVs later this year (via MacRumors).
When you encounter one, you’ll be able to connect and start AirPlaying TikToks or whatever by scanning a QR code on the TV.
