Netflix really wants you to know just how much it’s investing in Korean projects with this reel, which, among other things, provides our first decent look at season 2 of the horror series Sweet Home.
TVs
You can watch movies and shows from Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and other services on a smartphone or a tablet, but a dedicated TV will always be something special. It’s the centerpiece of your living room, and the only display that you can truly cozy up to on the couch for hours on end. If you want to get more out of your purchase, you can make it even better with a powerful sound system and by hooking up a few game consoles, like the Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One. The latest 4K (and soon, 8K) displays from Sony, Samsung, LG, Vizio, and more deliver enhanced visual quality, better value, and smart features that you can’t find on other screens outside of your local cinema. If you’re looking for the latest TV news, how-tos on optimizing your home theater setup, and reviews for OLED and LCD TVs, you’ve come to the right place.

Slowly, everyone is agreeing that the Vision Pro is a TV, but I’m struggling to believe that it will actually replace the TV sets in your home.

More than 250,000 people have signed up in hopes of getting Telly’s unique TV. There’s something to this concept, but plenty of unknowns remain.
At Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s LA premiere this week, producer Amy Pascal teased that Miles Morales is definitely making his live-action debut in the near future, and Sony’s already working on another Spider-Man starring Tom Holland:
“We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”
Telly, the company that’s launching a free, ad-supported TV, says DirecTV customers will be able to “bring all of their connected experiences” to the dual-screen TV when it starts shipping this summer.
That will come on top of all the other apps that Telly is launching with the TV, including Zoom, 40 built-in games, and a voice assistant. Telly is also giving new DirecTV Stream customers “priority access” on its waitlist, which grew to over 100,000 people last week.
Sure, 8K TV seems completely stalled as a consumer product, but that didn’t stop Chinese manufacturer BOE from bringing this 110-inch 16K display to SID Display Week 2023.
Vincent Teoh took a look at all of its pixels, which were unfortunately forced to display upconverted low-res 8K content.
Here’s what BOE had to say about it:
The product adopts BOE’s cutting-edge oxide TFT technology and features high charge carrier mobility and an ultrahigh resolution, improving the image finesse by four times on the basis of 8K. It adopts BOE’s proprietary image enhancement technology to further boost the charging and drive capabilities, delivering exquisite and breathtaking image effects.

An all-in-one portable projector that also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker.
You couldn’t pay me to put Telly’s free TV that comes with a second screen entirely for ads in my house, but a lot of other people are willing to do so: the company says more than 100,000 people registered to try and get one within 36 hours of the TV’s launch. The TV is set to start shipping in the summer.

During an Andor-focused FYC Emmy event over the weekend, series creator Tony Gilroy announced that all of the show’s scripts will soon be posted online alongside concept art.

LG’s G3 and Samsung’s S95C promise the brightest, most impressive picture we’ve ever seen from OLED TVs — and that’s on top of other advantages like perfect blacks and excellent gaming performance.

Sony’s shipping a new remote control with its 2023 lineup of Bravia TVs, and it comes with a button that leads you directly to Crunchyroll.
While it’s nice that at least one TV maker’s acknowledging us anime fans, it’s hard to view the move as anything other than a way for Sony to promote another one of its businesses.
