Just a week after revealing a fresh gameplay trailer at Sony’s State of Play, Capcom showed off some more of the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds in a much more dramatic clip. Unfortunately, MonHun fans are going to have to wait a while, as the game isn’t launching until 2025.
Trailers

The most exciting showcase of Summer Game Fest 2024 is here.
Skate. No seriously. EA’s fourth entry in the Skate series was heralded by a slightly confusing skit featuring I Think You Should Leave star Tim Robinson. You could hear the audible bewilderment from the audience once the skit was over and it was only after the video did the audience sound a collective “Ohhhh” when we found out it was a Skate trailer. Lol.
Sonic Generations was a good-ass game and I’m excited for its darker, edgier sequel Sonic x Shadow Generations. Just in time for the Sonic 3 movie, Sonic x Shadow Generations adds a gaggle of new levels to play as Shadow the Hedgehog — but let’s not get our hopes up that Keanu Reeves will make an appearance in this one. Sonic X Shadow Generations launches on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation October 25th.
Remedy is finally detailing the first add-on for Alan Wake 2, which it has been teasing since last month. It’s called Night Springs, features three episodes, and launches tomorrow. Even better: the game is finally getting a physical edition later this fall.
I did not have a new Power Rangers game on my Summer Game Fest Bingo sheet and judging from the theater’s enthusiastic reaction, nobody else did either. Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind from Digital Eclipse looks like it taps into all the goofy-ass action and comedy that made Power Rangers so cool back in the day and even now. Can’t wait to play when it comes to PC and consoles later this year.
Slitterhead — a new release from Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, which was first announced back in 2021 — looks plenty creepy in this new gameplay trailer. But honestly, it’s the game’s title that gives me the chills. It launches on November 8th.
We knew that Blumhouse was getting into the gaming world, and this sizzle reel shows an impressive — and scary — slate of upcoming games from the new label.
Atlus showed off a new trailer for its awkwardly titled roleplaying game Metaphor: ReFantazio. Despite the strange name, there are plenty of reasons to be excited, as this RPG comes from many of the same minds behind the beloved Persona series. It launches on October 11th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Chinese developers Game Science debuted a new trailer for its action RPG based on the classic novel Journey to the West — Black Myth: Wukong. While light on actual gameplay, the trailer did show the Monkey King pulling his iconic staff weapon out of his ear. I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to put those all the way in there. Black Myth: Wukong launches August 20th on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
A month ago, we got news that a new Batman: Arkham game was in the works, this time exclusively for the Meta Quest 3. Now, we have a brief trailer detailing a very bad July 4th in Gotham City. Unfortunately, Arkham Shadow still doesn’t have a release date — only that it will arrive in fall 2024.

First revealed last year, Neva is the follow-up to the stunning adventure Gris. The new game looks just as beautiful and also adds a wolf companion. It’s launching on the Switch, PS5, Xbox, and PC.

One of the more charming upcoming titles under Panic’s growing publishing label, Thank Goodness You’re Here is launching very soon: it’ll be out August 1st on PC, Switch, and PlayStation. There’s also a demo out on Steam so you can check it out, and a new trailer featuring none other than Matt Berry, of What We Do in the Shadows fame.
Nintendo just released a quintet of classic Mega Man games for Switch Online subscribers, covering a five game run of Game Boy titles that launched in the early ‘90s. The platform means the Blue Bomber isn’t, well, blue in these games, but there’s still some very fun action-platforming to be had.
We’re a month out from the conclusion of Ti West’s genre-defying horror trilogy. It started with X, continued with Pearl, and on July 5th will wrap up with MaXXXine, an ’80s Hollywood murder mystery that once again stars Mia Goth. Honestly though? I kind of want to watch the fake horror movie teased at the beginning of MaXXXine’s latest trailer.
Just as The Acolyte carves out a new space for Star Wars, the just-launched free-to-play shooter Hunters is going to plenty of familiar places. I’m not sure the world can handle another multiplayer arena shooter, but hey, this one does have a Wookie named Grozz.
I have no idea how many Metal Slug games there have been, but the long-running franchise — with its arcade-y guns and tanks action — is a treasure. And now there’s a tactics game coming in the fall? From the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge?
I don’t know who asked for this but sign me up.
Sure, Sony just wrapped up a jam-packed State of Play livestream. But before you have time to catch your breath, it’s time for a Silent Hill Transmission. It kicks off at 4PM PT / 7PM ET and will feature news on upcoming games, the Return to Silent Hill movie, and more.
Close to a decade after it first launched, the interactive slasher movie Until Dawn is getting a remake that’s launching on both the PS5 and PC this fall. The first trailer gives a good sense of how much it has been updated for the new hardware. (Unfortunately it’s age-restricted, so you’ll have to click through to watch!)
But it sure looks cute. Infinity Nikki is described as an “open-world dress-up adventure game” which, well, that definitely is a genre. A beta is launching on the PS5 some time soon.
The chaotic action series is returning with Dynasty Warriors: Origins in 2025, though the announcement trailer doesn’t give much away.
Because the CG trailer didn’t give a good sense of what Concord is actually like. But now we know: it looks a lot like Apex Legends and Overwatch.
A year after acquiring Firewalk Studios, Sony is showing off our first good look the developer’s upcoming Concord. (We got a brief teaser trailer last year.) The clip serves as an introduction to this original sci-fi universe, which looks heavily inspired by Star Wars and the MCU. The 5v5 shooter is coming to both the PS5 and PC. Early access starts on August 23rd.
It’s a little less than a month before season three of The Bear is released in one big chunk of episodes as large as the Michelin Man who doles out those coveted stars. This latest season features the revamped restaurant opening to the public for the first time which means we can probably expect even more anxiety-inducing episodes like “Review” or “Fishes.”
Just a day after an all-too-brief teaser featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt getting annoyed at each other, comes a much longer trailer that also features them getting annoyed at each other — only this time with more banter and action. Wolfs hits theaters on September 20th, and is expected to stream on Apple TV Plus sometime thereafter.
The first teaser for the next Moana movie — animated, not live-action — looks a lot like the original but larger in scale, which means some very impressive water effects and gigantic sea creatures. The movie hits theaters on November 27th.
The first teaser for Wolfs doesn’t reveal much, but it does have 30 seconds of George Clooney and Brad Pitt seemingly being very annoyed with each other while sitting in a quiet car with some very squeaky windshield wipers. The movie — which is about two lone wolf fixers forced to work together — is expected to come to Apple TV Plus some time this year after a theatrical run.
Problemista — Julio Torres’ brilliant surrealist comedy about finding your people — is finally hitting Max on June 28th. But if that’s too long a wait, and you’re itching for some of Torres’ absurd humor a bit earlier, his new series Fantasmas is scheduled to premiere on June 7th.
