You merely adopted Mad World, I was born in it.

Gears of War: Reloaded will put the original Gears series in more hands than ever before. We already knew the game was coming to PS5 for the first time, along with cross-play and cross progression. We also knew the release date, August 26th. I guess Xbox didn’t really want anything, just to remind us it’s still here and coming soon.

Cronos is coming.

Bloober Team is having a great time. Silent Hill 2 released to rave reviews and the developer has another project in the works with Konami. The team also has an original project, Cronos: The New Dawn.
We got a new trailer for the game featuring a tone of gross, be-tentacled monsters and some timey wimey shenanigans. Still now firm release date, though, beyond fall 2025.

Why did it have to be giants?

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle came out just last year and the folks at MachineGames have been busy. During the Xbox Games Showcase we got a glimpse at a new DLC campaign, The Order of Giants.

In the trailer, it looks like Indy will be investigating the origins of the Nephilim, the mysterious giant-like men sworn to protect the Great Circle. I hope the DLC means we’ll get the chance to see Tony Todd’s character for one last time.

Lies of Peak.

Lies of P, the Korean Soulslike based on the legend of Pinocchio is back with more puppet pounding action. Lies of P: Overture is a DLC expansion that delves into the history of Krat and gives you more opportunity to play around with a very pretty, very real boy. Even better, the DLC is out....right now.

Come along and build on a fantastic voyage.

At Summer Game Fest, Lego has revealed its next game: Lego Voyagers. It’s a co-op adventure game where two players will use Lego to build their way across beautiful bricked-up landscapes. It actually looked really sweet, like the perfect game to play with a young family member. The game will also feature the friend pass program where you and a buddy can play on one copy of the game.

Everyone is here.

While we’ve known about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for a while, at Summer Game Fest 2025 we got a better look at the racers and a release date. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches on September 25th with crossplay and a roster that includes Hatsune Miku, Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series, and the character that got the biggest cheer from the live SGF audience: Persona 5’s Joker.

A new challenger approaches.

Here’s the equation for a new fighting game. (Marvel vs. Capcom - Capcom) + Arc Systems Works = Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The developers of the Guilty Gear series have teamed up with Marvel to make a 4v4 tag team fighting game that harkens to the good ol’ days of Marvel vs. Capcom.

It’s got a 2026 launch window and is primed to take advantage of that brand new fight stick PlayStation just revealed.

Get over here!

As part of PlayStation’s Summer State of Play presentation, Digital Eclipse have a new documentary game project to share. The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is the most komprehensive kollection of Mortal Kombat games to date. Play the klassic titles including MK 1, 2, and 3, their arcade, console, and even handheld editions. And because it’s Digital Eclipse, expect a ton of behind the scenes archival footage from the game’s earliest days in development.

The dad games will continue until morale improves.

PlayStation’s summer State of Play is going on right now and Capcom showed us a bit more of Pragmata, a game that looks like the developers crossed one of the Great America Dad Games like Bioshock Infinite or God of War with the slick hyper-realistic visuals of Stellar Blade. Not much of the gameplay was shown but we were given a 2026 launch window and introduced to our Elizabeth/Atreus analogue, an adorable little robot child named Diana.

The fires just keep burning in Apple TV Plus’ Smoke.

The first trailer for Apple TV Plus’ upcoming crime drama Smoke starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett as a detective / arson investigator duo forced to team up in order to take down a pair of serial fire starters is — apologies — hot as hell. The show debuts on June 27th.

Pixar’s Elio has a gorilla fight question of his own.

While you may have forgotten that Elio is hitting theaters next month, the film’s latest trailer makes it seem like Pixar has been listening to the ridiculous 100 men vs 1. gorilla hypothetical fight people have been debating about for the past few weeks.

Heartbreak feels good in a movie like Daniela Forever.

In writer / director Nacho Vigalondo’s Daniela Forever, the grief Nick (Henry Golding) feels over the sudden death of his girlfriend Daniela (Beatrice Grannò) leads him to a clinical trial for a drug that induces lucid dreaming. Nick’s drug-fueled dreams are meant to help pull him out of his depression, but as the movie’s new trailer teases, things go terribly (and beautifully) wrong. The movie’s in theaters July 11th.

We have to go back.

If nothing else, the Jurassic Park franchise has done a solid job of coming up with reasons for people to keep returning to dinosaur-infested islands. The latest example is Jurassic World Rebirth, which has Scarlett Johansson searching for some life-saving dino DNA. It also looks like a mix of a number of film franchises — a little Alien, a little Indiana Jones — and it hits theaters on July 2nd.

The Predator’s going to have to bring its A game.

The new trailer for Hulu’s Predator: Killer of Killers gives a little bit too much of the plot away, but it also makes the movie seem like it’s going to be kinda fantastic when it premieres on June 6th.

This girl is on fire.

Here’s one more trailer before the John Wick spinoff Ballerina hits theaters on June 6th. The new clip plays all of the Wick hits — pulsing nightclub, hotel shootout, bulletproof jackets — but with Ana de Armas as the new trained killer. It also hints that we might get an answer to how John is still actually alive.

Walk hard.

The first trailer for The Long Walk, the latest Stephen King adaptation, starts out pretty cheerful and wholesome before fully revealing its much darker premise. It’s being directed by Francis Lawrence, best-known for his work on The Hunger Games series, and hits theaters on September 12th. It’s also not the only dystopic King film in the works, as Edgar Wright is making a new version of The Running Man due out in November.

May the 6th be with you.

As Fortnite is in the midst of a big Star Wars collaboration, Destiny 2 has teased its own coming later this year. It’s called Renegades, and a proper reveal is happening on September 9th, with a launch in December.

Fair warning: the new trailer for Michael Shanks’ Together may only be two minutes long, but it’s full of body horror moments that will stick with you. The movie hits theaters on July 30th.

The gang is back together.

Here’s the first, very brief, teaser for Highest 2 Lowest, which has Denzel Washington and Spike Lee working together once again. The thriller is a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low, only set in New York in the present, and it also stars Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and A$AP Rocky. It hits theaters on August 22nd before streaming on Apple TV Plus on September 5th.

Nightreign, explained.

If you’re still unsure just what the deal is with the multiplayer spinoff of Elden Ring, Bandai Namco just put out a 10-minute-long overview trailer that does a good job of summing up what exactly you’ll be doing in the game, covering combat, enemies, gear, and your home base, among other details. And it’s right on time: Nightreign launches on May 30th.
