Apple updated the Apple TV to version 4.4 to go with the rollout of iOS 5, only to find it wasn’t working perfectly. The first version of 4.4.1 caused even bigger problems, but 4.4.2 now looks to put things back on track.

Apple TV The Apple TV has been down a rocky update road the last two weeks, with problems surrounding the 4.4 update prompting a bugfix that itself was pulled and re-released after bricking devices. Now Apple’s revealed both updates also have issues updating themselves to newer versions of the software, and has released 4.4.2 to (hopefully) right all wrongs. Unfortunately, the update requires the home media streamer to be wiped completely, so get ready to enter your Netflix and iTunes information all over again.
