The first teaser for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has just been unveiled as part of the Comic-Con festivities in San Diego. Posted by Cosmic Book News, The 40-second spot is essentially one big build-up to a quick shot of Jamie Foxx as the villainous Electro, who’s lying suspended underneath some kind of huge apparatus. From the looks of it, Peter Parker would be well advised to keep his Spidey suit’s MP3 player out of harm’s way.

The clip ends with a message telling us that “Electro arrives” at the movie’s July 19th Comic-Con panel, where we’re hoping to hear more about the project. The film — which also stars Paul Giamatti as Rhino and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn — won’t be in theaters until May 2nd, 2014.
