Google contractor who claimed he was fired for calling out cult activity reaches a settlement.
Kevin Lloyd alleged he was fired shortly after complaining that a religious organization named Fellowship of Friends “dominated a business unit called Google Developer Studios, which makes videos showcasing the company’s technologies.”
A now-former leader of the unit was a member, and the lawsuit, like another one the NYT cites from 2008 that won a $6.5 million award from Kelly Services, claimed a preference for hiring and promoting members.
The settlement terms, reached between Lloyd and the staffing company that brought him on as a contractor, have not been disclosed.
