This year’s model is a teeny-tiny upgrade to an already fabulous tablet. But there’s a glimmer of something bigger here.
Amazon just added a “Plus” to its Fire TV Stick 4K, but if they were looking for a rebrand they should have just followed a time-honored industry approach: copy whatever Apple just did.

Bloomberg reports that Ke Yang, only just promoted to head of the team, is leaving for Meta. He was tasked with building a Siri search tool to rival ChatGPT and Gemini, and is one of a dozen or so prominent AI departures for Apple this year.
Apple was prepared this time for its M5 chip launch in the new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, as it promptly included the new devices in its polishing cloth compatibility list. We got a bit of a scare last month when it took a couple days for iPhone 17 compatibility.
