The iPhone 17 Pro might be oh so orange.

Leaker Sonny Dickson has shared photos of dummy units from Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, including a bright orange for the Pro and Pro Max models. Expect the exact hues to be different in the final phones though.

It follows a video yesterday from another leaker that showed similar Pro finishes, plus a model in gray — but with signs of AI generation in that video, we’d put more stock in Sonny’s shots.

Google says the UK never ordered encryption access.

Until now it’s stayed quiet on whether it received the same order to open a backdoor to user data as Apple, but a spokesperson confirmed to TechCrunch that it never did. If it had, Google wouldn’t be allowed to say so.

Apple has pulled iCloud encryption from the UK and appealed its order in the courts. Last week it was reported that the UK is ready to give up the fight following US political pressure.

It’s getting chilly on Prehistoric Planet.

There have already been two great seasons of Apple’s prehistoric nature documentary series, and the next will shift the focus to the Ice Age, exploring the period across five episodes. Tom Hiddleston will be swapping in for Sir David Attenborough as the narrator when the show premieres on November 26th.

India overtakes China in smartphone exports to the US.

This might be a one-off after Apple reportedly shipped 600 tons of iPhones from India in April to avoid tariff threats, but a new report from Canalys tracks with Apple’s intention to move the totality of its US iPhone production to the country by the end of 2026. China doesn’t like it and Trump’s gonna be real pretend mad.

Is this really an iPhone 17 Pro spotted in the wild?

Now that Google has coughed up a look at the next Pixel, it’s apparently time for more iPhone rumors. The account @Skyfops on X tweeted two pictures of a cap and sunglasses-wearing man with two phones, claiming he’s holding a test development iPhone, complete with another man seemingly running interference to keep them hidden.

The device in the pictures certainly resembles other supposed leaks, but with AI, Photoshop, and bored students in the summer, are you ready to believe this is Apple’s next iPhone? Bloomberg Apple reporter Mark Gurman reshared the tweet, saying, “This looks legit.”

Microsoft uncovered a security flaw affecting macOS’s Spotlight.

The vulnerability (CVE-2025-31199), which Apple patched in a March 31st update, could give bad actors access to files inside a device’s Downloads folder and data cached by Apple Intelligence. That includes geolocation data, media metadata, and facial recognition info, according to a report from Microsoft Threat Intelligence.

Security researchers discovered the flaw after using Spotlight plugins to bypass a security feature made to prevent third-party services from gaining access to user data.

Apple’s updated App Store age ratings will show up in the new betas.

The new age ratings, initially announced earlier this year, now include Age 4 plus, 9 plus, 13 plus, 16 plus, and 18 plus. “Ratings for all apps and games on the App Store have been automatically updated to align with this new system and will be reflected on Apple devices” running the new betas, Apple says.
