The guy who runs Twitter is worrying military leaders across the globe.

The New York Times has a deep dive into Starlink, the internet satellites deployed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX — and how they’ve become crucial to communication in war zones like Ukraine.

Just like the rest of us, it turns out military leaders are also concerned about Musk’s somewhat erratic decision making.

In Ukraine, some fears have been realized. Mr. Musk has restricted Starlink access multiple times during the war, people familiar with the situation said. At one point, he denied the Ukrainian military’s request to turn on Starlink near Crimea, the Russian-controlled territory, affecting battlefield strategy.

Well, Kanye’s back on Twitter.

Sorry, I mean: Ye is back on X.

Elon Musk’s social network unbanned Ye after nearly eight months. He was banned back in December 2022 for posting a swastika after making a series of anti-Semitic statements on and off of Twitter.

The Wall Street Journal reports that ads won’t appear beside Ye’s posts, and he won’t be able to monetize his account.

Twitter’s slipshod rebranding project runs into Apple’s App Store rules.

The app formerly known as Twitter is still listed as Twitter in the App Store, which, as pointed out by a few people, is likely due to Apple’s rules, which appear to bar anyone from shortening the marketing name in the App Store to a single character.

However, you can make the Home Screen name of an app a single character, which is how it now appears, along with the new icon.

Twitter is now labeled X on iOS too.

After the app’s rebranding on Android, we’re seeing the new (old) logo on Apple devices too. It’s still named Twitter, but the bird icon is gone, replaced by Elon Musk’s current fascination, X.

The Zuck v. Musk cage match may not happen after all.

According to Reuters, when asked about the fight, Mark Zuckerberg told employees that he’s “not sure if it’s going to come together.”

I’d rather not watch the two billionaires duke it out, so I’m honestly fine if it doesn’t.

Elon Musk says X has hit a new high in ‘monthly users’ this year.

He also shared a graph seemingly showing the platform’s growth. The number 541,562,214 is at the end of the chart.

While that might seem impressive, Musk may be counting users differently than Twitter once used to. The company last reported monthly active users at 330 million in 2019 — Musk’s measure, notably, did not include the word “active.”

The owner of @X didn’t get the big payout from Elon Musk people expected.

Many expected the previous owner of @X on Twitter to be handsomely compensated when the platform took over the handle after its rebrand. But the payday never came. “They just took it essentially — kinda what I thought might happen,” Gene X Hwang tells The Telegraph.

“All’s well that ends well,” Hwang subsequently tweeted from the far less prestigious @x12345678998765 handle.
