Google Messages might soon let you use RCS across multiple SIM cards.

That’s according to an APK teardown of the Messages app by 9to5Google, which found mentions of “multi_sim” alongside “RCS.” The launch of the feature wouldn’t exactly be a surprise — Google’s support page explicitly states that “RCS chats are available for your default or preferred call SIM at this time and may be available for other SIMs later” — but it suggests the feature could arrive soon.

OpenAI code suggests ChatGPT could sub in for Google Assistant on Android phones soon.

Over at Android Authority, Mishaal Rahman has evidence that ChatGPT’s developers are working to enable the use of it as your default AI assistant.

That way, it could replace Google’s Assistant (which is getting a generative AI boost from Bard), Bing, Alexa, or others when you long-press your Android home button. However, the code also suggests access could be tied to paying for a ChatGPT Plus subscription.

AT&T is powering the cellular connectivity for a security camera.

With the new Remo Plus DoorCam 3 Plus LTE, AT&T’s LTE network can serve as a backup if the camera’s Wi-Fi connection drops out. This isn’t the first security cam with cellular connectivity, but it’s nice to see the feature coming to more cameras.

The DoorCam 3 Plus LTE will launch around late March, with pricing available in a similar timeframe, according to AT&T’s Mike Van Horn.

That’s according to leaker Ice Universe, who warns that the feature is in testing and may not make it to the final phone. We’ve seen 4K 120fps recording on OnePlus and Sony phones in the past, and now Samsung could join them after its launch, which is tipped for January 17th.
