Nintendo adds Tetris to its Music app and teases features coming later this year.

Nintendo has expanded its Music app’s catalog with tracks from the Game Boy and NES versions of Tetris, Dr. Mario, and the Switch’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land. On a support page on its website, Nintendo also revealed details about an October 2025 update, as spotted by Nintendo Life.

Using the app requires a Switch Online subscription, but later this year those who unsubscribe will still be able to access, edit, and share playlists they created.

Nintendo’s Alarmo now lets you set a different alarm time for each day of the week.

Firmware version 3.0.0 for Nintendo’s alarm clock has been released, and Nintendo Japan’s support site has a list of the updates. You can now set a different alarm time and mode for each day of the week, and previews have been added to the alarm scene selection screen.

Instead of sleep sounds turning off after 10 minutes, they can now be set to play for as little as one minute, or as long as a full hour.

The Switch is getting four retro SNES strategy games.

As a potential consolation prize for Assassin’s Creed Shadows not making its way to the Switch, Nintendo has announced four SNES strategy games coming to the Switch Online service, with two of the games — Nobunaga’s Ambition and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness — featuring the same conflict that plays out in Shadows.

The other two titles launching on March 28th include Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire and Uncharted Waters: New Horizons.

Nintendo and the Seattle Mariners go way back. The publisher owned the team from 1992 to 2016 and was responsible for publishing the best baseball game ever played by a shiba inu.

The connection got a little bit closer with the announcement that for the first time ever the Mariners will sport Nintendo logos on their jerseys. Nintendo’s iconic “racetrack” logo will appear on home jerseys while the Switch 2 logo will appear on away kits.

Another Nintendo PlayStation prototype has emerged.

Only 200 prototypes of the Nintendo PlayStation were ever made, and most were destroyed when the partnership fell through. What was believed to be the last remaining prototype in existence sold at auction for $360,000 in 2020, but Julian Domanski discovered that former Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Ken Kutaragi has had one stashed away in a closet, as spotted by Time Extension. Don’t expect it to hit the auction block any time soon.

The New York Times’ Mini Crossword made a Mario mistake.

The online gaming operation that also houses a newspaper noted a small correction in today’s Mini Crossword puzzle. It could’ve thrown daily puzzle game players off when it previously asked them to name a Halloween costume with “suspenders” instead of Mario’s overalls.
