Do you want to buy stocks on X?

I’m going to assume the answer is no, but Semafor reports that the company is “seeking a financial-data giant to build a trading hub inside the app.” Should this come to fruition, it could be just one of many pieces of Elon Musk’s vision to make X an “everything app.”

...that is, if the company is working on some kind of stock trading platform at all. “No work is being done on this to the best of my knowledge,” according to Musk.

Verified Twitter / X Blue subscribers can hide their blue checks.

If you want to buy Blue, but don’t want to advertise that you’re a paying user on Elon Musk’s social network / attempt at an everything app, you might have the option to do both now.

It looks like Twitter is still working on ID-based verification.

App researcher Nima Owji has spotted a new label that appears when you click on a user’s blue checkmark, reading: “This account is ID verified.”

While Twitter, err... X, hasn’t actually confirmed that it’s launching a new ID-based verification method, findings from Twitter’s code suggest the platform has been working on this since at least March. If Twitter does start letting users verify their identity with some form of ID, it should hopefully help us better discern who’s an imposter and who’s not.
