The new Adobe Premiere Color Mode, which is available in the latest Premiere beta, is a color grading system built inside the editing program replacing Lumetri. The Asus ProArt validation extends to full HDR editing workflows with the new Premiere feature.

Last week I told you how much better the MacBook Neo is compared to similarly priced Windows laptops. Now, let me show you.

The cut corners of these Asus, Lenovo, and Acer laptops are glaringly obvious next to the Neo.

The Zenbook A16 is a large laptop that weighs very little and performs great.
The Asus ROG Strix G16 and G18 are getting a chip bump to the new Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus. Both also have upgraded displays, with the G16 reaching 300Hz and the 240Hz G18 now using Mini LED. Pricing and availability are TBD.
Asus is also teasing a new flagship ROG Strix Scar 18 with RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and 290HX Plus CPU, expected in Q2.

Apple’s new affordable MacBook should have the Windows world rethinking things.
Asus didn’t price any laptops it announced at CES, but prices are slowly tricking in. The ProArt PX13 GoPro Edition costs $2,999.99 in the US, while the standard model using a similar AMD Strix Halo processor with less RAM (64GB instead of 128GB) costs slightly less at $2,799.99. Both are available today.

Asus made a GoPro-inspired ProArt PX13 laptop

Asus made all the right tweaks, and the new Panther Lake chip delivers.

The first chip of Intel’s 18A process is speedy, even on battery power. And it’s a solid option for 1080p gaming.

AMD’s Strix Halo is a big, pricey chip with the best integrated graphics we’ve ever seen. The Asus TUF is the brand’s budget-friendly gaming line. So how “affordable” will Asus’s new TUF Gaming A14 laptop with Strix Halo be? We don’t know yet, because Asus hasn’t finalized pricing. But I look forward to testing this TUF.
RGB stripe subpixel arrangements are the next big thing in OLED gaming monitors, and my colleague Antonio took some great photos of Asus’s ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM monitor at CES so you can see the arrangement on a real monitor. Sean snapped a few photos of RBG stripe screens, too.
After 2020’s pricey first effort, Asus is trying the Zephyrus Duo formula again.
But this time, it’s added extra space that could make its two-screen laptop setup worthwhile. Here’s Antonio with a closer look at the new Duo.
The Wi-Fi 8 spec isn’t finalized, but Asus is showing a ROG NeoCore concept router at CES. Buying a router based on an unfinished reference design spec sounds risky, but I do hope this d20-like styling sets a trend.
The clear spider-like version you see here is Asus’s Wi-Fi 8 test model. A rep told me the NeoCore internalizes the antennas, which are the edges of the polyhedron. Neat.

If you thought it was just a CES concept that Asus would kill with fire, I’m sorry to bring bad news: the Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI has arrived for $900 at Best Buy. It’ll be at Newegg tomorrow. It’s “just” a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 device, so AI is the “draw” here.

There’s been a bit of backlash to the Xbox Ally handheld’s $999 price tag, which will be a stiff test of consumer interest in expensive console hardware. But it’s also a test of Microsoft’s “everything is an Xbox” philosophy, because this sure is expensive for an Xbox that only plays PC games, and not everyone is sold:
Dkfkhfkwkdnc:
Only Microsoft can release a thousand dollar device branded “Xbox” that can’t play Xbox games. Only a millionaire executive at this specific company could have hallucinated this.

Asus launched a new entry-level gaming laptop called the V16 as well as a grab bag of new Vivobooks. Many of them are configurable with a last-gen RTX 4050 GPU and now available in the US.
The V16 starts at $949.99 for a 16-inch 144Hz display, Intel Arrow Lake chip, and older RTX 3050. Meanwhile, the Vivobooks come in various sizes and styles with AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm processor options.

The niche gaming tablet makes the switch to integrated graphics and, amazingly, is better for it.
Asus’s new ROG Flow Z13 is available for preorder. I tested a preproduction model as a ridiculous gaming handheld, and I’m working on a review of the final hardware.
As a 13-inch gaming tablet starting at $2,099.99 ($100 more than announced), the Z13 is a pricey, niche machine that falls somewhere between the Steam Deck and a full-sized gaming laptop. But it’s charming, with impressive real-world performance.
Stay tuned for the review.
