Actors you recognize are joining season 2 of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings show.

The first season of The Rings of Power was very sumptuous and expensive TV, but most of the actors weren’t especially familiar to audiences. Season 2, however, is adding new cast members you might recognize, including Ciarán Hinds (who played Dumbledore’s brother and Mance Rayder on Game of Thrones). As with previous press releases there’s no word on who Hinds is playing. So commence with the speculation.

Remarkable’s fancy new keyboard case has been delayed.

After a few Verge readers noted their pre-orders were delayed I reached out to Remarkable, and its true. A problem with the Type Folio’s plastic spine has led to delays until the company can sort out the issue. I was already on the fence about wanting to buy a Type Folio. It starts at $199! So I think I’ll wait until the next batch arrives (the sample Remarkable sent me appears to be fine thus far).

Can we call a streaming show niche if we don’t actually have data to support that?

A League of Their Own is getting a shortened second season, and I’m pleasantly surprised by that. I’d assumed, without any data to support it, that the show wouldn’t get a renewal because queer content is often treated as niche content, and niche content often struggles to find an audience — at least according to execs.

But according to its own creator, A League of Their Own outperformed plenty of renewed shows. So probably best to avoid calling something niche until there are numbers to back that up.

Some Star Wars fans collect lightsabers, and some fans build a million dollar throne room/home theater.

I’ve seen a lot of Star Wars inspired home theaters over the years, but this one, which is more than two stories tall and includes a comfy version of Emperor Palpatine’s throne, is truly awe-inspiring. And very, very expensive. Naturally the home theater subreddit has concerns about the subwoofer choice.
