Elon Musk is “excited about the Twitter situation.”

Or so he said on a Tesla earnings call just now.

He didn’t sound super excited, but that might be because he’s “obviously overpaying” for the social media company that he is definitely excited to buy.

He shot down the idea of merging Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter under one umbrella company but allowed that the “overlap is not zero.” X confirmed!

Would you like some electrons with your Crunchwrap Supreme?

Taco Bell envisions itself becoming a destination for electric vehicle charging, slinging Chalupas and Cheesy Gordita Crunches to EV owners while they recharge their batteries. A Taco Bell in South San Francisco is the first of “more than 100” other locations that will soon feature a DC fast charging station. And Taco Bell isn’t the only franchise looking to cash in on the EV charging boom: Starbucks is also on the bandwagon.

Facial recognition is coming to your car.

The new Genesis GV60 electric SUV is one of the first production vehicles to include facial recognition technology to unlock the vehicle. And they promise the whole thing will be end-to-end encrypted, so there’s that.

Axios’ Joann Muller said it took about five minutes to set up, capturing both her face and fingerprint and then allowing her to use the car without a key fob.

Other automakers have said they will use biometrics to scan for driver fatigue or intoxication.
