Denver’s e-bike voucher budget was supposed to last three years. It ran out in six months.

The city authorized $9 million to finance incentives through 2024, but that money is already nearly exhausted. More than 4,100 Denver residents have redeemed vouchers worth more than $4.1 million — way more than the $400,000 city official expected to spend. All residents are eligible for a $400 (or up to $1,200 for low-income residents) off the purchase of a new e-bike. Federal officials, take note.

Congrats to Casey Neistat on his new electric cargo bike.

The popular YouTuber just put up a great video outlining all the various ways of getting around New York City (walking, running, subway, his signature Boosted Board) and lamenting how none of them are really compatible with having kids.

So he pulled the trigger and got an electric cargo bike. Specifically, the Enurau MAX-CARGO, if I’m not mistaken, which can be had for the very attractive price of $1,699. Casey calls it “the most perfect means of transport,” and I tend to agree!

I will personally pay these companies to put physical buttons back in their cars.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is the latest fancy car to eliminate physical buttons in favor of more touchscreen nonsense (as noted in Doug DeMuro’s most recent review of the electric SUV). I can conceive of no earthly reason why I should have to dig through several menus on a touchscreen just to open the glovebox except that physical buttons cost money I guess? So please, Cadillac, put the button back in and then send me the bill.

How Google Meet’s real-time closed-captioning helped John Fetterman recover from his stroke.

According to New York’s Rebecca Traister, the Pennsylvania Senate candidate is still struggling to process what he hears since suffering from a stroke last May. He’s been relying a lot on text messages, but also Google Meet, which features real-time closed captioning. Traister’s interview with Fetterman in early October was conducted over the video communication service.
