Sega is keeping mini consoles alive

The company has two new tiny devices, the Astro Mini City V and the Sega Genesis Mini 2, that prove there’s still a place for miniaturized classics.

    “It’s coming soon, hopefully.”

The smash hit card game Marvel Snap is getting an important new feature: the ability to play with friends.

“We are very eager to have some form of friendly match or friendly battle where you can play against your friend or someone streaming,” associate design director Kent-Erik Hagman told The Verge’s Ash Parrish in a recent interview. “It’s coming soon, hopefully.”

    Dare to be stupid.

I saw a lot of movies at TIFF this year, but only one had me in actual tears of laughter — which was especially surprising since it starred Daniel Radcliffe. You can finally check it out for yourself tomorrow (November 4th) when the completely ridiculous Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starts streaming on The Roku Channel.

Squid Game star gets behind the camera.

Hunt is the directorial debut of Lee Jung-jae, best-known to international audiences as the star of Netflix’s phenomenon Squid Game (he also plays one of the lead roles in the film). It’s an incredibly intense spy thriller — and one of my favorite things from this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. It hits theaters and on-demand services on December 2nd.

There’s a lot to do this weekend.

It’s nearly Halloween and the entertainment releases are ramping up. This week we’ve got Henry Selick’s latest spooky stop-motion movie, a horror anthology from Guillermo del Toro, some old-school survival horror, an expansion for Resident Evil Village, and the long-awaited third Bayonetta game. Meanwhile, House of the Dragon just wrapped up its first season, so it’s the perfect time to catch up if you’ve been slacking. Nothing is scarier than those Targaryen kids.

    It was Vision all along.

There might be more of everyone’s favorite synthezoid on the way. According to a report from Deadline, a WandaVision spinoff centered on Vision is in the works, with Paul Bettany set to reprise the lead role. It’s reportedly called VisionQuest, and would be the show’s second spinoff, with Agatha: Coven of Chaos also in the works.

The Moebius-inspired adventure Sable is coming to the PS5.

The game originally launched last year on the PC and Xbox, but a new PS5 version will debut on November 29th. It’ll have the same chill gameplay, along with new features like fishing and support for the DualSense controller.
