MacRumors made mockups of the iPhone 16 Pro.

It seems Apple’s next Pro phones will look a lot like the iPhone 15 Pro, but they’ll apparently have bigger screens and a new capacitive button for capturing video.

Hard Drive, the satirical publication about video games, is starting a Patreon.

Hard Times, the independent company that owns the very funny website Hard Drive, said today that “our sites can no longer survive without some help.”

The Patreon has three tiers: $5, $10, and $25 per month. However, if Hard Times doesn’t get enough patrons, “we’ll refund everyone who subscribed and shut the Patreon down.”

AT&T is powering the cellular connectivity for a security camera.

With the new Remo Plus DoorCam 3 Plus LTE, AT&T’s LTE network can serve as a backup if the camera’s Wi-Fi connection drops out. This isn’t the first security cam with cellular connectivity, but it’s nice to see the feature coming to more cameras.

The DoorCam 3 Plus LTE will launch around late March, with pricing available in a similar timeframe, according to AT&T’s Mike Van Horn.

    Infinite reboot loop.

Apple has made iOS 17.3 beta 2 unavailable, according to MacRumors. Earlier today, the update was sending some beta testers’ phones into an infinite reboot loop, as reported by 9to5Mac.

If your phone is stuck in the loop as a result of the update, Guilherme Rambo has a guide on how to fix things.

(This is another reminder of why you shouldn’t install beta firmware on your main device.)

Update January 3rd, 4:00PM ET: Added guide from Guilherme Rambo.

Update January 3rd, 4:52PM ET: Updated to reflect the update has been pulled.

X once again removes headlines from article links.

That sentence may look familiar! Headlines were added back on the web yesterday, but this morning, I noticed they were gone.

X owner Elon Musk said in November that titles would appear over URL cards “in an upcoming release;” hopefully they officially roll out soon.

Facebook now offers a link history on mobile.

If you toggle link history to be on, Meta will be able to show you a list of links you’ve tapped and viewed in the in-app browser over the past 30 days.

Meta already tracks things you do in its in-app browsers — this feature seems more like a way to surface a list of links that you can refer back to later. (Meta also says that if you flip on link history, it may use that information for ad targeting.)

Gizmodo reported on the link history feature earlier today.

Maybe $1,000 per month was too expensive.

X (formerly Twitter) now has a “basic” tier for Verified Organizations, which gets you a gold checkmark badge (and a few other benefits) for $200 per month instead of $1,000 per month for “full access.”

While X claims this new tier is “designed for smaller businesses,” the more affordable plan is perhaps an admission that not enough businesses are paying for the more expensive plan.
