Barbie is now the top-grossing movie of the year in North America.

It’s already earned $575.4 million in North America, according to The Hollywood Reporter, beating out The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s $574.3 million run. Mario is still apparently the bigger movie globally, but Barbie is on pass to surpass it.

Both have beaten $1 billion at the box office.

I didn’t really like season 2, but I’ll probably end up watching this anyway.

    Barbie in IMAX.

One of the biggest movies of the year will be hitting select IMAX theaters for one week beginning September 22nd. The IMAX version will have “exclusive post-credit footage” selected by director Greta Gerwig, according to a press release.

If only there were Barbenheimer double-features in IMAX.
