The Information reports that OpenAI is “considering” opening a marketplace for AI models, and CEO Sam Altman apparently talked about it in a meeting with developers last month.
The idea makes a lot of sense, if you ask me, but it we may not be seeing it anytime soon. A spokesperson told The Information that OpenAI doesn’t have “active efforts” to make the marketplace.

Epic Games and Nike are teaming up on Fortnite gear and a slick-looking Nike-themed Fortnite island made with Epic’s new Unreal Editor for Fortnite tools. If you play the “Airphoria” island for 10 minutes or more, you’ll even snag a Nike shoe you can use as a back bling.
As part of the partnership, you can link your Epic account to .SWOOSH, Nike’s Web3 platform, to get a “.SWOOSH Achievement.” If you see “Web3” and think “NFT,” I understand. But Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says that Fortnite isn’t getting NFTs and an Epic support article says that these Achievements “cannot be traded, sold, or exchanged and have no monetary value.”
Apollo for Reddit developer Christian Selig has a new post pushing back on Reddit’s claims that it’s “happy” to work with developers who “want to work with us.” Apollo is set to shut down on June 30th because of Reddit’s forthcoming — and potentially expensive — API pricing.
The developer of rif is fun for Reddit has also pushed back, sharing emails with The Verge last week about his conversations with the company.
“These threats against the very individuals responsible for maintaining Reddit’s communities cannot be ignored,” u/demmian wrote. The company recently sent a threatening message to the moderators of some subreddits participating in the protests, and an admin account said that Reddit can invite new mods to “keep these spaces open and accessible to users” if “a moderator team unanimously decides to stop moderating.”
That’s according to a notice on the Project Tailwind website, at least. The company teased AI-powered notebook at Google I/O this year.
