Christmas is over, so here’s a OnePlus teaser to take the edge off.

The OnePlus 12 isn’t the only phone getting an international launch on January 23rd. It’ll be joined by the OnePlus 12R, the first R Series device to release in the US and Europe (the likes of the 10R and 11R were exclusive to India and China). OnePlus’s new teaser image below shows off the 12R’s blue and gray colors below. It looks a lot like the OnePlus 11 and 12, but we’ll soon see what its internal specs bring.

It seems Android’s “Nearby Share” is out and “Quick Share” is in.

Android’s AirDrop competitor might be getting a rebrand. Kamila Wojciechowska, an oft-reliable source of Google leaks, reported receiving a notification about the name change after installing a new Android update. News of the change comes over three years after the feature’s launch in 2020, and confusingly matches Samsung’s name for a very similar feature.

These aftermarket Steam Deck D-pads are the stuff of nightmares.

Maybe I’m just feeling a little biased after a wasp fell out of my bath towel and stung the undersides of both my feet this morning, but these replacement Steam Deck D-pads with real dead bugs are sending shivers up my spine. As spotted by Polygon, they’re made by Deckbuttons with an MSRP of $49.99, but they’re currently out of stock. Good.

A 480Hz refresh rate on an OLED monitor?

LG has pre-announced half a dozen new OLED gaming monitors, the most interesting of which is the 32-inch 32GS95UE. By default it’s a 4K monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, but with the push of a button it can double this refresh rate to 480Hz at the expense of its resolution falling to 1080p. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to learn more about this “Dual-Hz” feature at CES next month.
