    Threads hits 10 million users.

A very tired Instagram head Adam Mosseri has posted a brief video to announce that a) he hasn’t slept all night and b) 10 million users have signed up to Threads in seven hours. “Lots more to do,” Mosseri says.

Goodness that’s a lot of images of Samsung’s unreleased foldables.

WinFuture has dug up a host of images of Samsung’s unannounced Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldables, as well as its Tab S9, which are expected to launch later this month. There’s nothing too surprising in here, given we’ve seen images of both foldables before, but it’s nice being able to see them from (almost) every angle.

AI can’t win Grammys, but music that contains AI-generated elements is a-ok.

“Here’s the super easy, headline statement: AI, or music that contains AI-created elements is absolutely eligible for entry and for consideration for Grammy nomination. Period,” Recording Academy CEO and President Harvey Mason jr. told The Associated Press. “What’s not going to happen is we are not going to give a Grammy or Grammy nomination to the AI portion.”

How is Instagram’s Threads going to work, anyway?

With Meta’s Twitter competitor set to launch in just a few days time, there are still a lot of questions about how it’ll work. 9to5Google has dug through its APK to try and find some answers.

One interesting point: although Threads is built on the ActivityPub protocol used by Mastodon and others, it doesn’t look like it’ll be cross-compatible at launch.

Update: When Threads was briefly viewable on the web, a post by Adam Mosseri was visible that confirmed it would not include ActivityPub support on day one.
