Yes, the default Microsoft Office font has changed from Calibri to Aptos.

Microsoft 365 office suite users on TikTok are picking up on the switch to Aptos that was announced and started rolling out last fall:

This new look specifies an updated standard color palette and type font that are applied throughout Microsoft Office. The new theme will affect only your document, not the look and feel of Microsoft 365.

If it’s bugging you, this support page can explain how to change the default font or theme across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    Cash App joins F1.

Or, more specifically, Visa Cash App RB, which is the new name of the team formerly known as Alpha Tauri. The rebranding is apparently part of an attempt to move the team, now called V-CARB internally, according to ESPN, up within the sport’s midfield runners.

    Everyone’s watching anime.

Well, everyone of a certain age, anyway.

Over at Polygon, they’ve surveyed more than 4,000 Americans over 18 to find out the truth of anime’s reach in popular culture. Netflix’s number one spot on the “Where are you watching anime?” list explains its sudden One Piece obsession, and the survey has even more results about who is watching and why they watch.

The predatory loan apps that persist in Google Play.

Apple and Google have defended their app stores as necessary tools to protect users, but Verge alum Russell Brandom highlights this article focusing on loan apps Google Play allows even though its own rules say it shouldn’t. Rest of World found dozens of apps in Mexico and Peru that broke Google’s TOS by requesting access to things like a user’s contact list, information which has been used to harass people over debts.

    Halo Infinite is dropping “seasons.”

Microsoft’s flagship FPS has had a bumpy ride since its release, and there are rumors a “Tatanka” battle royale project was canceled. What isn’t a rumor is that Halo is dropping some conventions borrowed from other live service games, like marking big updates as “seasons.”

The team explains that new updates are now numbered (the next one on January 30th is Community Update 29 or CU29), while the battle pass-like Operations will give players a chance to earn free rewards for a few weeks at a time.
