Have you ever gone a-wandering in the Jonathan Frakes memes?

Commander Riker from Star Trek: TNG might be his most famous role, but have you ever seen the supercut memes from Beyond Belief? One of them made it into The Verge’s Slack today, which got me thinking you might enjoy them too. Frakes tells journalists that this one is his favorite.

Today I learned a one-inch camera sensor isn’t one inch — not even diagonally.

Even if you measure it like a TV, it’s just over half an inch. Misleading much? In fact, you’d need an APS-C or larger sensor to stretch to an inch diagonally — and only full-frame and medium format sensors are more than an inch wide.

Don’t expect much Pixel Fold at Google I/O.

We’re seeing headlines suggest the long-awaited foldable might show at Google I/O on May 10th, but I’m not holding my breath. Remember, TheElec reported Google wouldn’t even begin mass production of the most critical component — the foldable screen — ‘till July or August. That pub has good sources in the display industry.

I guess Google might give us a glimpse, though, alongside Android 14?

    And speaking of Lego...

Today’s the day you can begin voting in Lego’s BrickLink Designer Program, where 375 designs are competing for the chance to become a limited-edition Lego set and earn their fan designers 5 percent of sales. Here are a few of my very early favs!

Leaked Lego Indiana Jones looks like fun!

Somehow, these ones made it to stores before they were even announced — and @echoalive122_ has already built ‘em for us. More at their Instagram.

The best price ever on the best foam blaster Nerf never made.

The Dart Zone Pro MK-3 is $60 at Amazon, an all-time low — it originally retailed for $130. It’s one of the few non-boutique blasters you can buy that’s designed for sporting grade Nerf right out of the box, even if many community-designed blasters can easily outclass it.

Note: we might get a commission if you buy through that link.

One last nail in the coffin for the FTC vs. Meta.

The FTC already lost in court, Meta already closed the deal to buy the makers of fitness app Supernatural, and the FTC told us it wouldn’t appeal — but there was still a parallel challenge in the FTC’s in-house administrative court.

That’s now over too, reports The Wall Street Journal.
