Sennheiser’s new fitness buds do heart rate tracking right

For once, I didn’t have to worry about a fiddly fit getting in the way of heart rate tracking.

    Did you feel that too?

After an earthquake rocked the East Coast this morning, we were all warned that an aftershock could be a possibility. Well, it looks we just got one — albeit much shorter and less intense. In any case, at least you don’t have to worry too much about NYC’s infrastructure.

Do I feel less lonely in the Vision Pro?

That’s what I kept asking myself when testing out spatial Personas with Wes. The short of it is your ghostly Personas are now free to interact in any SharePlay enabled app, so you can watch movies, play games, and collaborate on projects. It’s neat — and you can interact more with other people. But seeing Wes’ head just float in my office also reminded me he really wasn’t there.

Garmin’s new heart rate tracker pairs nearly perfectly with sports bras

Finally, a chest strap that works with my sports bra — not against it.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro will probably a chonker.

That’s because rumor has it the thing will pack a 600mAh battery. On the one hand, that probably means multiday battery life. We love that! But it also means the Pro will likely be a behemoth. Don’t love that. I get the design challenge, but on behalf of petite-wristed folks, smartwatches can’t keep getting bigger to solve the battery issue.

Prepare to see more stats in the Fitbit app.

Namely, Google’s rolling out Heath Connect integration. So if you have 5,000 steps on a Pixel Watch and then switch over to a Garmin for a run, that workout data will still be viewable within the Fitbit app. It’s not perfect — that data won’t count toward Fitbit badges, for instance. Still, this is a neat option for folks who like to use multiple devices.

Meta’s been tinkering with mixed reality for 10 years now.

This video is a fun speedrun through all the VR headsets and AR glasses that Meta’s been tinkering with over the last decade. There’s a mention of Project Aria, and you even get a glimpse of some experimental smartwatch like controls. It’s a neat highlight reel, but I did chortle at how fast the video glosses over Ray-Ban Stories.
