I promise that string of letters and numbers makes sense. Square Enix just announced the first FF game to utilize its distinct HD-2D graphics. It’s called Final Fantasy Resonance, and it launches on the Switch 2 on October 22nd.
In addition to teasing the next game in the sci-fi RPG series — called Xenoblade Genesis, and launching in 2027 — Nintendo also announced that three past Xenoblade titles are getting enhanced Switch 2 editions. The first is available today, XC2 launches on July 30th, and XC3 is out on December 3rd.
One of the best action games of the last decade is coming to the Switch 2 on June 23rd.
After being announced last September, Nintendo will finally release the next mainline Fire Emblem game on September 17th for Switch 2. In a new trailer, Nintendo also went into detail on the four main characters and teased some of the game’s story.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet has you cooking and managing a restaurant with the help of the Straw Hats. I’m not caught up on all 1,000-plus episodes of One Piece, but I think Sanji will forgive me. It’ll be available on the Switch and Switch 2 on October 23rd.
Pokopia is getting a free update in August that introduces underwater spaces to explore and build in. Meanwhile, Nintendo is also launching a multipart expansion pass of paid updates, the first of which also drops in August.
Dragon’s Dogma 2, a Capcom game designed for complete sickos (complimentary), is out on Nintendo hardware on October 9th.
Ahead of this morning’s Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced some unexpected news: The remaster of Final Fantasy X / X-2 is on the way to the Switch 2, launching on July 23rd.

The Broadway adaptation of Schmigadoon!, originally an Apple TV series, picked up four awards in yesterday’s Tonys, off the back of 12 nominations, completing Apple’s unexpected set after recent Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar wins. Not bad for a computer company.

The audio streaming platform has reportedly approached concert promoters to obtain licensing rights to show live video of music festivals, and has already starting to add some live event videos, including a show Dua Lipa hosted in Mexico City. Last month, Spotify announced new tools for reserving concert tickets.

Dave the Diver is getting jungle-themed DLC: Dave the Diver: In the Jungle. It’s launching on June 18th.
Game Freak shared another look at Beast of Reincarnation, its upcoming Soulslike where you’re teamed up with a big dog. Looks great, though if the dog dies at the end, I’m going to be mad.
The game launches on August 4th.
A remaster of the classic and influential Thief: The Dark Project is on the way, and it’s launching this winter on a big range of platforms: PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and the Switch.
Ascenders: Beyond the Peak combines two of my favorite genres — seems promising. It will be out in early access in Q3, and a demo is available now.
Here’s the first trailer for Signet City, “a first-person fungalpunk RPG” from Gareth Damian Martin. I’m intrigued. It’s in development for PC, though it doesn’t have a release date yet.
Annapurna Interactive’s new game, which stars an old man “on a journey north in search of redemption,” launches on October 8th. I have a hunch this one will be a tearjerker.
The new teaser for Virtue and a Sledgehammer doesn’t reveal much about the game, but the good news is that there’s a Steam demo you can check out right now.

As spotted by Kotaku, the Steam page for the newly announced World Tour says that:
At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative AI as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks.
We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour. No AI was used in reference to the performers in the game.
I’m not exactly sure what this all means, though, and I’m glad it at least wasn’t used “in reference to the performers in the game.”
It’s the first film of 2026 to rake in more than a billion dollars, and on a budget of only $110 million. It’s unlikely to be the last movie to cross that threshold this year, however, with two Marvel movies and Toy Story 5 on the horizon.
The next CoD was actually announced ahead of Game Fest, but here’s five more minutes of Modern Warfare 4, which launches in October.
Activision’s new Spyro game is Spyro: A Realm Beyond, and it’s launching in spring 2027. It’ll be available on Xbox, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, made by teams who worked on Dead Cells, will be released on October 15th. Despite the pedigree of its developers, it’s not a roguelike.
The next big update for Flight Simulator gives you a chance to explore over 30 American landmarks and national parks without bothering with a road trip. It launches, appropriately, on July 4th. Also you can fly the Goodyear blimp.
Recently-fired 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley has some words for the clowns now running CBS. “It would have been so much better if Bari Weiss had been offered this job and said ‘Oh, that’s not for me; I don’t know how to do that,’” he tells the Times. As promised, Sega’s Crazy Taxi is coming back with a new game called World Tour, and based on the first trailer it seems like it’s capturing some classic vibes. It’s launching in 2027.
Sign me up. Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations launches on July 7th. It costs $19.99, though it’s included if you already have the game’s Premium Edition or Collectors Bundle.
The unsettling psychological horror of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is getting an action-oriented follow-up with a new game called simply Senua. It’s coming to Xbox, PS5, and PC sometime next year.
