Jason Snell, long-time writer of all-things-Apple for Macworld, recently announced his tenure is coming to an end after nearly 30 years at the publication. (Snell also contributed some great pieces to The Verge; you can read his work here.) What a run! You can read his farewell letter here:

The company says its AI-powered spam detection tools are blocking 23 million spam views each day, while catching around 25,000 new “spammy posts and comments,” and revoking nearly 2 million “inauthentic votes.” Reddit is also working to combat “coordinated patterns of fake behavior and artificial hype,” which we’ve seen with AI systems trying to game AI search results.

The Sony Alpha Instagram account shared a short and vague teaser for a new Sony RX10 camera that will be announced on July 9th at 10AM ET. If you’re a collector or are just on the hunt for an authentic Halloween costume, Sotheby’s is auctioning off a Tom Ford leather jacket worn by Huang worn during an event in Taipei in 2023. After teasing the upgraded model alongside the original Mic Mini 2 that launched in April, DJI has announced the ¥629 ($93) Mic Mini 2S in China. A group of students in Pisa, Italy, recently set a new Guinness World Record for the “largest paper aircraft.” The previous record stood for over a decade. Icarus is made from glue and paper but was designed and built using actual aeronautical engineering techniques which helped it glide nearly 194 feet.
