I came here to plunder temples and punch fascists.

And in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Indy’s got plenty of both. To mark the game’s imminent release, Bethesda has shared its official launch trailer. From the trailer, expect lots of whip cracking, Nazi punching, one of Tony Todd’s last performances, and painting a bunch of red lines all over a world map. Great Circle releases on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation December 9th.

We have Horizon Zero Dawn at home.

Polaris Quest has announced Light of Motiram, which is described as a game set in “a world overrun by colossal machines” on its Steam page. It also looks remarkably like Sony’s own open-world blockbuster series full of mechanical creatures.

Nintendo gets funky.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers have a fresh dose of Sega games to check out today, headlined by the sequel ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron and the technically impressive platformer VectorMan. The additions come just a day after the Game Boy title Donkey Kong Land 2 hit the service as well.

“Put me back in the game.”

I’m still not really sure why Player 456 is heading back for season 2 of Squid Game, but the new trailer at least gives a good sense of what he’s in for. The show premieres in one month, hitting Netflix on December 26th.

The BBC is colourising Doctor Who’s final black and white episode.

The BBC has colorized classic episodes of Doctor Who before, but its upcoming re-release of The War Games — the serial that introduced the Time Lords — will feature an all-new regeneration sequence that crystalizes how the Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton) became the Third (Jon Pertwee).

The 90-minute remaster hits the BBC iPlayer December 23rd.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is coming to HBO Max for the holidays.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice might not be your go-to holiday comfort watch yet, but you’ll be able to change that on December 6th when the film debuts on HBO Max. The streamer’s also releasing American Sign Language (ASL) and Língua Brasileira De Sinais (LIBRAS) versions of the film in the US / Europe and Brazil, respectively.

Remember Elio from Pixar’s upcoming film Elio?

Feels like it’s been ages since we heard anything about Pixar’s Elio from co-directors Domee Shi, Madeline Sharafian, and Adrian Molina. But the studio has just dropped another trailer teasing how an alien bathroom is one of the most beautiful things young Elio (Yonas Kibreab) will see on his space adventure when the film hits theaters on June 13th.

Hot xenomorph summer.

The new teaser for the FX spinoff series Alien: Earth doesn’t show a whole lot, but does confirm that the show will premiere in the summer of 2025. Oh, and in 2120 the xenomorphs are still very shiny.

The Studio display.

Apple has revealed the first look at its upcoming comedy The Studio, which stars Seth Rogen as a budding film studio head. While the show looks full of delightful disasters, perhaps more impressive is the cast which includes the likes of Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, and Bryan Cranston. It starts streaming on March 26th.

The spiritual successor to Patapon is murdering me with its cuteness.

Ratatan doesn’t just look and sound like Patapon, it even has Hiroyuki Kotani, the designer of the PSP original, working on it.

Oh, and it’s a four-player co-op roguelike? Okay, that’s it — I’m dead. Someone please res me when this launches in 2025.

Half-Life 2 will be 20 years-old on November 16th, and Nvidia’s new trailer for its Half-Life 2 RTX project is part visual showcase, part tribute — with testimonials from the remake’s lead developers at Obifold Studios.

Half-Life 2 RTX now has a Steam store page, where it’s listed as “Coming soon.”

Y2Slay.

A24 has released another trailer for Y2K, a slasher movie set on New Years Eve 1999. The clip shows a bit more of the household appliances that have turned into killers and, also, there’s a musical remix featuring Bill Clinton. The movie hits theaters on December 6th.

“Yo-ho, row-ho with Mario & Luigi.”

The Nintendo Switch is going out with a bang.

I’d say some bangers, too, after hearing the catchy sea shanty from this new trailer for Mario & Luigi: Brothership, which will add to the Switch’s pleasingly robust Mario RPG catalog.

The Horizon Curse is real.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is out today on PC and PS5, but like previous games in the series, its release has been overshadowed the launch of another, more anticipated game. Horizon’s original release in 2017 got obliterated by Breath of the Wild. Then, Horizon Forbidden West launched the same week as Elden Ring. This time, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, also launching today, is the specter looming on Horizon’s shoulder.

Well, almost. Digital Eclipse just announced the release date for its retro throwback beat ‘em up Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, which is out on December 10th.

We’ve known for a while now that HBO was aiming to debut its Dune: Prophecy prequel series at some point this fall. But in addition to dropping a new trailer, the network has finally announced that the show will premiere on November 17th.

Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to.

Unknown World’s spooky-ass ocean game is getting a direct sequel. Subnautica 2 debuted during today’s Xbox partner preview. Judging by the announcement trailer, the game is, once again, making a strong case for why we don’t belong in the ocean. Not ours, and especially not an alien planet’s.

Avast ye Kiryu-chan!

Even after watching the trailer for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii during Xbox’s partner preview, I still have no idea why Majima Goro, the best character in the Yakuza series, is a pirate and honestly, I don’t care. It’s Majima Goro in a pirate hat, commanding a customizable pirate ship, and engaging in naval warfare. Some things don’t need explanations.

Bloober gets bloody in its next game.

During the Xbox partner preview, Bloober Team showed off its next game, Cronos: The New Dawn. During the trailer, one moment features individual kitted out in astronaut gear, exploring a dilapidated house overrun by monsters. And in the next, they’re playing an increasingly bloody game of chess with a sweet old lady who is definitely hiding a secret. Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release in 2025.

Just debut the show already, Netflix.

It’s one thing for Netflix to split Arcane’s upcoming final season into a three-part event, but the streamer has some nerve to keep dropping these banger trailers so close to the show’s return next month.
