NBA 2K27 is debuting on the Xbox store on PC this week, and as part of the launch it’s becoming an Xbox Anywhere title. That means if you purchased the game on an Xbox console already, you’ll get the PC copy free from the Microsoft Store and vice versa. Microsoft has been pushing Xbox Play Anywhere for years, and hit a milestone of 1,000 titles last year — ahead of the next-gen Project Helix console.

Yesterday, the DOJ and OpenAI revealed that Abdulrahman Alfozan, a 35-year-old Saudi national and former Facebook employee working for OpenAI, has been arrested and charged with installing a recording device behind a TV in an executive conference room.
Now Bloomberg points out court documents showing that the day before he was arrested, prosecutors asked to seal the information, arguing that “the defendant has the means—and will have an incentive—to flee the United States sooner if he learns about this case before he is arrested.”

If Apple’s first smart display finally gets my family to actually use my smart home, I’ll consider it a win.
When Asus briefed me on the ExpertBook A7, reps told me the $899 entry-level config will launch in January with 8GB of RAM. Turns out, Asus decided to switch that to 12GB for the same $899 price — but failed to clarify that with us.
An OLED display, haptic trackpad, and 12GB of RAM for $899? I hate getting bad info, but in today’s RAMageddon world let’s all take the W.
The company closed the day above a $5 trillion valuation, though it has surpassed the milestone six times in intraday trading, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The app already lets you lock your Windows computer, but a beta version has a new Power menu with options to lock, sleep, shut down, or restart your PC, Android Authority reports. Could be handy if you need to power your computer down while you’re away from it.

The classic mode just launched in July, but Riot Games says that most players have “gone back to other parts of League.” The mode is being shut down in January 2027, but Riot says it has a “goal” of bringing it back “likely as an event mode with adjustments and additions.”
The launch will include some of Apple’s earlier Apple Intelligence features, but not the just-launched Siri AI, according to Bloomberg. The update is set to release in December.

Here’s a tidbit in SpaceXSI’s announcement post for Grok Voice 3.0 today:
Starlink call centers use Grok Voice to answer 20,000 customer calls every day across multiple languages. Roughly 70% are resolved with no human in the loop, and one in four sales calls ends in a purchase before the caller hangs up. A single agent built on Grok Voice 3.0 verifies customers, troubleshoots hardware, issues credits, and ships replacement equipment.
007 First Light is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18th, 2027. The very good James Bond game launched on other platforms in May, though shortly before that, developer IO Interactive said it would come to Switch 2 “later this summer,” so it’s a bit late.
The company’s unsecured debt due in 2032 is now trading below 80 cents on the dollar, Bloomberg reports. “Yikes” is right, Elon — if CoreWeave crumbles, other debt-laden neoclouds might be in trouble, too.
CoreWeave is in many ways the poster child of the current AI buildout, which may have disastrous consequences if things don’t go as planned.
The team at Puzzmo are celebrating their third anniversary, and as part of that they’re releasing a bunch of experimental games, including a version of solitaire where you can see other players around you. It’s sort of like reading in a library: you’re doing a solo activity, but in the comforting presence of like-minded folks.
