If you just got an iPhone 15, make sure to update it before transferring data over from your old iPhone.

The iPhone 15’s latest update is iOS 17.0.2, and Apple says it fixes an issue that “may prevent transferring data directly from another iPhone during setup” (via MacRumors). Take a few minutes to update your new phone before setting up that transfer to avoid issues.

(By the way, the latest update for older iPhones iOS 17.0.1, so don’t look for iOS 17.0.2 on those devices.)

It’s not just a widget spinner.

Christian Selig’s new Pixel Pals update also lets you play full-fledged games from iOS widgets. In a video on X, Selig shows a game featuring a wizard person; on my own iPhone, I tried out a game of 2048.

Overall, it’s a pretty charming little app.

We’re not seeing the update on our iPhone 15 review devices just yet, but we’re planning to install it on those as soon as we can. Hopefully the patch fixes the seemingly-broken battery charging setting that’s supposed to halt charging past 80 percent.
