The AI video generator can only be accessed by users who are subscribed to ChatGPT’s Plus ($20/£20 per month) or Pro ($200/£200 per month) tiers. Sora being rolled out to the UK comes as creatives in the country are fighting against government plans to embrace generative AI by weakening copyright protections.

Chat, time to start my Twitch career?

Sometime this year, Twitch is going to open up monetization tools, including subscriptions and bits, “to most streamers, from day one,” according to an open letter from CEO Dan Clancy.

The change means you won’t need to reach affiliate status, which has some streaming and follower requirements, to be able monetize, spokesperson Ashton Williams tells The Verge.

Elgato will contribute $50,000 per year toward OBS’ development.

OBS, or “Open Broadcaster Software,” is an open source tool that’s used by streamers to broadcast their gameplay on platforms like Twitch. Elgato, which makes hardware and software for streaming, will join companies like Nvidia, AMD, and Qualcomm in the “diamond tier” sponsorship tier, according to Elgato GM Julian Fest in an X thread.

Akamai delivers content for TikTok, and the company says in an SEC filing spotted by Matt Schettenhelm that, despite President Trump’s order refusing to enforce the TikTok ban, it could be exposed to liability, including things like “significant fines” and “financial loss and other similar harms by continuing to provide services to the Chinese application.”
