That’s according to data Bloomberg obtained from analytics group Kantar, which says subscription cancellations in Spain tripled in the first quarter of 2023 when compared to the same time last year. Meanwhile, one-tenth of the country’s remaining subscribers say they plan on canceling in the future.
While Netflix says it expects this kind of “cancel reaction” in Spain, Portugal, Canada, New Zealand, and the other countries where it rolled out anti-password sharing rules, one million users seem like a pretty big loss.


It’s hard to tell from this new behind-the-scenes production video just what’s in store for everyone in Heartstopper’s second season. But it sounds like everyone’s going to be doing quite a bit of growing up when the season drops on August 3rd.

Netflix was never going to be a DVD shipper forever. But to win the streaming wars, it might need to recapture what made DVDs by mail so special.
Other than the DVD copy of Hot Rod that I didn’t send back for about a year and a half, the thing I’ll miss the most about Netflix’s DVD business is that weird month in 2011 when Netflix tried to break its business in two the first time.
