The game has been in development for years.
In Silksong, you play as Hornet, a character that appeared in the original Hollow Knight. The game, which will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, features a new kingdom with new areas to explore and new enemies and bosses to fight.
Silksong, the most wishlisted game on Steam, was originally announced by Team Cherry in 2019. Despite how long it took to make, the game was never “stuck” during development, Ari Gibson, one of the co-founders Team Cherry, told Bloomberg. “It was always progressing. It’s just the case that we’re a small team, and games take a lot of time. There wasn’t any big controversial moment behind it.”
“We could have kept going,” co-founder William Pellen said. And it sounds like they will: Team Cherry has plans to add more content to the game.
