Last August, the movie Fall made headlines for using AI to remove dozens of F-bombs and achieve a PG-13 rating. Now, several months after the movie’s home release, clips of the virtual redubs have been published online by startup Flawless.

And honestly? The overall effect is far more seamless than I would have originally guessed. Great freakin’ job everyone.

Baidu could beat Google and Microsoft to launching a chatty AI search engine.

The Chinese tech giant is planning to “roll out an artificial intelligence chatbot service similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT” in March, says Bloomberg News.

There’s few details available, but Baidu reportedly plans to integrate the AI chatbot with its search engine. With Google and Microsoft working on similar products, it seems we’re heading into a new age of AI-empowered search.

The ‘world’s first robot lawyer’ doesn’t stand up to a fair trial.

DoNotPay has aggressively marketed itself as the “world’s first robot lawyer” — an easy way to automate small claims and lawsuits using AI. But this fantastic test of the service is mostly damning. As author Kathryn Tewson writes:

“There is literally nothing AI about this. This is a straight-up plug-and-chug document wizard, and it is not well done at all.”
